The report from our most recent Ofsted inspection (November 2006) can be found here. The overall assessment is summarised below:
|
- Helping children to be healthy - This aspect of the provision is strong.
- Protecting children from harm or neglect and helping them stay safe - strong.
- Helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do - strong.
- Helping children make a positive contribution - exceptionally high quality.
- Organisation - strong.
|
| Since the inspection, a number of improvements have been made. |
- The car park area which is used for outside play has been completely resurfaced, improving the options for
outdoor play activities and addressing the shortfall under "helping children to be healthy" and "organisation".
- The medication record is now signed as required by the pre-school policies.
- Following the resurfacing of the carpark, and after two members of staff have attended a course on physical play,
outdoor play is encouraged whenever possible - Parents are asked to provide appropriate clothing (and wellies) for
wet weather, and a change of clothes.
- Additional opportunities to "make mark" (i.e. write their name) during all art and craft sessions.
- Development planning records are regularly updated for each individual child. These records are then discussed
with parents and passed to the child's infant school.
