There are many ways to donate time, money or equipment to the pre-school. Donations are always gratefully
received and really do make a difference to the children.
- Donating money: Any donations made by UK tax payers have 28% added by the government - for every pound you donate,
the pre-school receives £1.28. Donations help by extra equipment, pay for outings and activities and are used to
buy Christmas presents for the children.
If you wish to donate, please make a cheque payable to Southwood
Family Pre-school and hand it, along with a gift-aid form
to any member of staff. Note that a standing declaration can be made by ticking the second or third boxes down - i.e. there will be
no need to supply gift aid forms with any future donations.
- Donating equipment for the pre-school to sell: As with cash donations, the pre-school can get an extra
28% from the government for any item donated for sale by a UK tax payer. To achieve this, the pre-school actually
sells the item on your behalf and offers you the proceeds which, if you decide not to take them, are treated as
a cash donation.
If you wish to donate an item, please bring it to the pre-school (clearly labelled) along with a gift-aid form
to any member of staff. Once sold, you will be contacted and given a form which offers you the proceeds
which can be donated simply by ticking one box, signing, dateing and returning the form to the
pre-school. Again, a standing declaration can be made.
If the item is large, or you aren't sure whether it is suitable, please contact Tracy at
southwoodfamilyps@live.co.uk
- Donating equipment for pre-school use: Donations of suitable equipment are always much appreciated - talk to any
member of staff to confirm suitability. Note that the pre-school has limited storage space and may not be able to
immediately accept the equipment!
- Volunteering: For information on volunteering, please see the getting involved page.
- Sponsorship: If you can help obtain sponsorship for the pre-school, please talk to the pre-school supervisor.
Sponsorship normally sought to help support a Special Needs child by helping pay the cost of our special needs
member of staff. Sponsorship of specific events is also much appreciated !
